BiPolar Disorder in Mrs. Alito?
Thu Jan 12, 2006 at 12:07:33 AM PDT
I don't write a lot of diaries because I don't have time and hope I'll be forgiven for being brief.
I am certainly not a doctor. And I am certainly leary of long distance diagnosis after the Frist fiasco.
Nevertheless, with the wingnut press blaming Senate Democrats for Mrs. Alito's breakdown, it is time to at least consider other possibilities for her break.
Bipolar Disorder was formerly known as manic depression, characterized by the unexpected mood swings from Euphoric to depressed, at least according to the NIH. Many in the blogospere noted the peculiarly goofy smiling, giddy, giggly mood manifested by Mrs Alito in the first two days. And many have noted the unusual weepiness during the Graham statement. In fact, the mood manifestations have been so out of place and unusual that many have commented that it was all an act.
For the truth is that virtually all people of her age and station have long since learned how to sit still, hands in lap, with something of a calm Mona Lisa smile pasted on, no matter what is happening around them. Why not Mrs. Alito?
The Lord God's Own Foreign Policy
Sun Jul 24, 2005 at 10:10:07 AM PDT
Sunday morning seems like a good time to introduce the lord God Creator's very own foreign policy. There has been so much discussion about war and torture and so forth here at dkos, perhaps it is time to resolve all this librul whining once and for all. [Wish I could remember where I got this, maybe corrente.com.]
Need Ability to troll rate diaries

We Need the Ability to troll rate diaries.
Some of this stuff is becoming pretty disgusting and I think you all know what I am talking about. We need at least to examine the pros and cons. Redneck State bans you for these kinds of diaries.
Sorry this is so short. No Open Threads at the moment...........
Bush sabre rattling elects hardliner in Iran
Sun Jun 26, 2005 at 01:27:14 PM PDT
I don't think this issue has been addressed yet. But it would appear that Bush's jingoistic rhetoric has succeeded yet again in undermining the security of the American people. Whereas we might have been able to work with a moderate, Bush has scared the crap out of ordinary voters with his talk of war and simply pushed them into the arms of an ultranationalist hardliner.
Didn't he learn his lesson with North Korea and Iraq I mean, my God, what the hell is it with these people? Are they astonishingly stupid, or are they hoping a hardliner will be dumb enough to give them an excuse to withdraw our troops from Iraq through Teheran. And all that oil. Yum
Juan Cole nails it. Again

He does a concise yet thorough review of the connections between 911, War on Terror (Ie the War for Imperial perogatives), Iraq, ABu Ghraib, Israel, and Palestine. His starting point is the discovery of Israeli interrogators at Abu Ghraib prison.
POTUS is buried. A Moment of Silence, Please
Fri Jun 11, 2004 at 12:29:53 PM PDT
Ronald Wilson Reagan, 40th President of the United States,
is being buried today,
so let's observe a moment of silence,
for the millions human beings he victimized in our name, all over the world and right here at home in America.
Torture Coverup
Thu May 13, 2004 at 10:36:41 AM PDT
Thanks to Digby, via Atrios, we are getting a new piece of the puzzle which seems to connect some of the dots..
*Why did the Solicitor General lie to SCOTUS? And was Ginzberg tipped off about the torture?
*Why are the Pres. and his men, with almost superhuman zeal, attempting to minimize and suppress publication of the evidence?
*Why are they building a firewall of legal breastworks, just above the level of the MP's?
*Why did the Pres. de-fund the search for the WMD, or did he just tack over to a more "assertive" approach?
It all seems to circle back to George and his obsession with WMD. Has Digby given us a Eureka moment?
